About Us
At Raku, we believe great food brings people together. Founded by husband and wife duo Kenichi and Maria Abe, our restaurant was born from a deep love for traditional Japanese cuisine and the joy it creates in everyday life.

Kenichi is a skilled chef who learned the art of ramen and pork tonkatsu from his parents, both originally from Kyushu—an area known for bold, flavorful cooking. From a young age, he was immersed in the techniques and traditions of Japanese “ CHU-BO” kitchens, eventually refining his craft through years of experience in ramen shops across Japan.
Today, Kenichi brings that expertise to Raku, where each bowl of ramen is prepared with care, and every piece of pork tonkatsu is perfectly crisped and tender. These are time-honored recipes, rooted in family and tradition, recreated to give our guests an authentic taste of Japan.

Maria’s warmth and dedication to hospitality help shape the welcoming spirit of Raku. Together, the Abes have created a space where comfort, culture, and craftsmanship come together.

Whether you're craving a soul-warming bowl of ramen or a crispy, satisfying bite of tonkatsu, we invite you to sit down, slow down, and enjoy the flavors of Japan—one dish at a time.
